ANSI STANDARDS
Bollé lenses exceed American National Standarts Institute (ANSI) requirements for UV protection, impact resistance and optical clarity.
Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating
Glare comes from two directions. This scientifically engineered coating on the backside of most Bollé lenses eliminates backside glare to reduce eye strain.
Carbo Glas Coating
Bollés proprietary, industrial strength coating is applied to both sides of the lens for greater scratch resistance.
Polycarbonate (PC) Lenses
The Bollé super lightweight, premium-grade plastic resin lens is 20 times more impact than glass, and a third of the weight.
Visible Light Transmission
Percentage of light that passes through the lens, depending upon the tint and density of each lens. Darker lenses have a lower light transmission percentage as less light is allowed to pass through the lens, and lighter lenses have a higher transmission percentage as more light passes through the lens.
Polarized Lenses
Bollé polarized sunglasses are made from lightweight, durable polycarbonate with an optically precise filter embedded in the lens that eliminates most glare and reflected light. Ideal for diving an on water use.
Modulator Lens
Conditions change. The amazing Modulator lens changes with them. Active Cell Technology works aut the molecular level, quickly responding to changing light conditions to give you the best eye protection and performance. Unlike other variable light lenses, instead of being applied as a layer on the lens. Bollé photocromic technology is embedded into the lens, under a highly protective hardcoat to prevent wear.
Available in 3 colors:
Modulator Rose - A pink colored lens during cloud cover, ideal for low to medium light conditions. Darkens to a day gray as sunlight increases, making it perfect for all day wear. 35% - 12% .
Modulator Amber - Hight contrast amber for flat light color enhancement and extra definition on cloudy days, providing increased protection in bright sund, darkening to gray. 45% - 14%.
Modulator Polarized Gray - This all lens is a neutral gray that allows the ideal light transmission while fighting glare on cloudy and sunny days. 26% - 12% .
