Rim Type
The frame rim of all eyewear can be categorised into 3 types as below. Traditionally, an eyepiece has always been full rim, but technological advances and fashion trends have seen a greater number of semi-rimless and rimless frames enter the market.

When purchasing a rimless frame, the lenses should have a minimum refractive index of 1.6 in order to give it extra strength and durability required when the lenses are drilled.
Different Options on this feature will be shown at London Eyewear with the following icons:
Full Rim
The lens is completely encased in the rim of the frame.
Semi Rim
The lens is encased in the top part (across the brow) of the frame.
Rimless Frames
Each lens is drilled at two points and held by the temples and nose piece.
